Gertrude Stone BROOKS
Gertrude Stone was a resident of San Francisco by 1905. She studied at the California School of Fine Arts, California College of Arts and Crafts, and with Armin Hansen in Monterey. By the 1920s her married name was Brooks while living in Santa Cruz. Between 1939 and 1942 she traveled from Sonoma to San Diego to create a set of etchings of the 21 missions. Exhibited: Gump's (San Francisco); Paul Elders Gallery (San Francisco). Works held: Stanford University Library; Bancroft Library (University of California Berkeley).
