Einar Cortsen PETERSEN
1885 - 1986

Einar Cortsen Petersen was born in Copenhagen, Denmark on October 17, 1885. He served an art apprenticeship in his native city. A scholarship from the Danish Goverment allowed him to study art for several years in Paris, Rome, and Munich while working as a decorator. He immigrated to America in 1912 and worked in Nebraska, Oregon, and Washington before settling in Los Angeles in 1916. He died there on December 6, 1986.
