1854 - 1911
Dominic Needham was born in Australia in 1854. He arrived in northern California in the 1870s and settled in Marin County. He painted many scenes in and around San Francisco as well as landscapes of the Eel River area, Trinity Alps, and other scenic spots of northern California. He also painted a few portraits including his wife Minnie and Emperor Norton. Needham maintained a studio in his home in San Anselmo on Ross Avenue until his death on August 5, 1911. Exhibited: San Francisco Art Ass'n, 1873; California State Fair, 1881.
