Othello MICHETTI
1895 - 1981

Othello Francis Michetti was born on November 26, 1895 in Allano, Abruzzi, Italy. At age ten he immigrated to New York City where he later was a pupil of DuMond and Bridgman at the Art Students League. At twenty-one he settled in San Francisco and continued his art education. A world traveler, he also made sketching trips to Europe, Alaska and the Orient. Michetti died in San Diego, California on October 4, 1981. His subjects include mining camps, farms and landscapes of northern California. Exhibited: Santa Cruz Art League, 1934; Society of Western Artists, 1945, 1955.
