1886 - 1964
Carl Frederick Hobby was born in Iowa City, Iowa on March 10, 1886. He attended the Cumming School of Art in Des Moines and Art Students League in New York City. He was a resident of San Diego during 1913-23 and then settled in San Francisco where he worked as an instructor at the Art Center (1940). He died in Santa Cruz, California on May 19, 1964. Exhibited: Oakland Art Gallery, 1928; Society for Sanity in Art, California Palace of Legion of Honor, 1945. Works held: California Historical Society.
