1856 - 1945
Frank J. Girardin was born in Louisville, Kentucky on October 6, 1856. He attended the Cincinnati Art Academy under Thomas Noble and Frank Duveneck. Most of his career was spent in Cincinnati and Richmond, Indiana. He made extended painting trips to southern California after 1910 and settled in Redondo Beach in 1920. Girardin was active in the local art world until his death in there on August 7, 1945. Member: Los Angeles Art Ass'n; Cincinnati Art Club; Society of Independent Artists (New York City). Exhibited: Cincinnati Art Club, 1903 (first prize); Richmond Art Ass'n, 1912 (prize); Painters & Sculptors of Los Angeles, 1926. Works held: Richmond Public Gallery; Cincinnati Art Club; Queen City Club (Cincinnati).
